It’s not about servicing the hardware anymore; it’s all about servicing the hardware user. It’s about support. I was quite happy when my dedicated server provider sent me an e-mail, so I could tell him what problems I had.

Hello Michael, thanks for contacting me. Unfortunately, I have a bunch of problems with liquidweb.com that are starting to get their toll on me. Let me explain some of my issues.

Recently, one of my servers required some improvements. Less than 1 hour after submitting a ticket the ram was installed. 60 minutes! I was forced to spend the rest of the day accomplishing nothing, just staring at my computer screen. One time a technician of mine erased the site of one of my clients by mistake, and the support team had restored it in twenty minutes. The client hadn’t even noticed this! Where to I have to go to find the rush?

I am becoming boring! All my friends talk about their daily problems at their jobs with clients and providers. When they ask me how my work goes, all I can say is a timid “err, fine. Nothing has happened since I switched to liquidweb”. I think I am starting to annoy them. You have to give me some problems to talk about!

My girlfriend is amazed how much time I’m able to spend with her, and loves soaking up the attention. I used to be able to hide, now I can’t. No more saying “My server crashed and I will have to work on it.” She no longer believes me. I am falling short of movies to watch and locations to take her to dine. What is she giving you?

I am suffering from a lack of adrenaline rush, and I’ve had to take up boxing, rock climbing and car racing just to avoid going into shock! My stress level is so low I am slowly turning into a tibetan monk! I hope you can do anything about my situation before it becomes desperate. Now, if you will excuse me I have a plane to catch. I am going skydiving to see if I can get some exciment back into my life.

Regards, Ricardo.
