Working for a company doesn’t mean you have to go to the office everyday. Even certain government agencies are being told that they must let their employees work from home when possible. Congress will punish them with less funding if they don’t comply.
You might be thinking, “I wish I could do that”. Well, it just might be possible. The biggest fear businesses have is whether productivity will drop.
If you want to make this change you need to convince your boss that you can be productive. Show them that you can get the work done. If you can do that, you have a good chance to start saving gas.
Of course, if your boss won’t let you telecommute, you can strike out on your own. Many companies welcome getting work done by outside sources. If you have the right skill set you can get plenty of work.
Lots of businesses hire people to take phone calls. And, they let you do this from home. If you’re good on the phone, this might be a good option.
Small businesses can always use help with their bookkeeping. They can’t afford to hire full time employees for this work. This is where you come to the rescue.
Even secretaries can work from home. Small companies that are home based will need this work done. They don’t have an office so hiring a home based secretary is the answer. And, they could hire you part time.
You could do writing projects for companies. A lot of different writing is needed for many businesses. If you have good writing skills you can do this from home too.
Another skill you can work from home with is helping with billing. With the right software program and know how you can be offering this service to any company that bills people. This is another headache you can take away from small business owners.
With everything changing at a faster pace these days, everyone needs more flexibility. Hiring fewer employees, and outsourcing work instead, is becoming more common. This is where having the ability to do some of these tasks for companies, creates a small business.
Whether as your own business, or for your employer, more people are working from home. This is saving companies money. This is saving workers time, gas, and their sanity from long commutes.
